Regrowing Your Hair - 10 Rules To Follow

I have a fair amount of personal experience with the balding condition. I've been fighting hair loss for more than 20 years. I have written, owned, and operated another website for almost 10 years devoted to this very subject. I've talked with thousands of people suffering from the condition. Based on that experience, I've written 10 rules you should follow if you are serious about stopping further hair loss and even regrowing some of it. If you follow them, you stand a much better chance of effectively treating your condition than if you purchase Avacor.

1. With cutting edge treatments it is entirely possible, to regrow some of your lost hair.

2. You should spend a few minutes reading this site's review of the infomercial product called "Scalpmed". There seems to be more and more people who are claiming good results from this relatively new product. I will also show you how easy it is to make a generic version of Scalp Med that will cost you only about $10 a month. Last time I checked Scalpmed will cost you about $90 a month.

3. You might be able to slow down your hair loss, maybe even reverse it with products like Avacor but there are more powerful products on the market. The best place to find treatments that work are to read unbiased message boards. Hairlosshelp.com is in my opinion the best place on the net. I have no finacial relationship with this message board.

4. You must not panic or become overly obscessed with your hair loss problem. This leads to "jumping" from one treatment to the next without giving a particular treatment enough time. It takes 4-6 months to determine whether a treatment is effective. You need to pick a treatment and stick with it for that length of time. You need to divorce yourself from all emotions of fear and panic. If you act upon these emotions, you will never solve your hair loss problem.

5. Don't try too many treatments for hair loss at the same time. If your hair loss worsens or gets better you really have no way of knowing what treatment is responsible. You need to proceed slowly, logically and rationally.

6. Start with topical treatments first. Do not start by taking a lot of vitamin supplements or prescription medications. There is no point in risking potentially dangerous and permanent side effects when the area you want to treat (your hair follicles) are less than an 1/8 inch under the skin. Topical treatments are generally 100 times safer than oral treatments. In my opinion topical treatments are also more effective. Contrary to popular belief, there are almost always side effects from vitamin supplements as well as prescription meds.

7. You have time. The hair you lost today can be regrown for up to 30 months after the follicle stopped producing hair. This means you may be able to enjoy the the same head of hair you had 30 months ago as long as you get started with a good treatment and not waste time and money on products like Avacor. However, in my humble opinion there is no product on earth that will regrow hair los for more than 30 months. So if this is what you are hoping to accomplish don't waste your time and money!

8. Don't automatically dismiss so called "unproven treatments". I can personally attest to the fact that there are many hair loss treatments that are "unproven" and yet effective. "Unproven" simply means no one was willing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to get FDA approval. The only companies willing to do this are those that have a product or substance that can be patented. If, for example, rubbing "milk" on your scalp would regrow all your hair it would still be considered an unproven treatment. You can't patent the chemical composition of milk therefore there would be no incentive for a big pharmaceutical company to spend the money to gain FDA approval as a hair restorer. If they did spend the money to prove it was effective, hundreds of companies would also start selling it. The poor company that spent the money for FDA approval would never recoup their investment. Proven treatments are only substances that can be patented. Don't automatically dismiss "unproven" treatments but always be skeptical of any treatment.

9. Pay no attention to before and after pictures. They are meaningless and can easily be faked.

10. Beware of internet message boards. No matter how effective a treatment is there will always be some idiot that claims the product didn't work or attributes some ridiculous side effect to the treatment in question. This is their response to the emotions of fear and panic I discussed earlier. You have to understand that at least 25% of all the posts on internet message boards, related to hair loss treatments, come from people who are mentally ill. They are in acute psychological distress. That's the very reason why they're posting messages incessantly. They are searching for answers yet can't stick with any treatment that doesn't start regrowing their hair within a few days! They are panic stricken and or severely depressed. Internet message boards are a wonderful tool for finding good hair loss treatments. They are good for finding out about bad treatments as well. For example I have yet to see a single positive testimonial regarding Avacor! Just understand that these mentally ill types tend to gravitate to them. Learn to differentiate the "crazies" from the rational people. I must confess I was once one of these "crazies". I did not have any success with my hair until I became one of the rational. You probably won't either.
