Avacor Review Continued

Avacor - Creating A Need

One thing I hate about infomercials such as Avacor is the marketing technique I call "creating a need". This technique involves making almost anyone feel insecure about the way they look. It perpetuates the myth that unless we are drop dead handsome or beautiful we will never get to participate in the really "cool" things in life. They convince us that we have shortcomings that we need to correct with products like Avacor. They make us feel insecure about the way we look and then try to sell us a product that will correct the reason for our insecurity. They effectively "create a need" for something we might otherwise never purchase.

Commercials and infomercials have been doing this to us for years. I believe it is a big reason why so many of us are depressed. I believe it is a big reason why so many people are on prescription drugs for the treatment of this depression. Watch enough T.V. and many of us will conclude we simply don't "measure up" with the rest of the people in the world. We wrongly conclude we are on the outside of the group of people that is living life to the fullest. T.V. convinces many men and women that unless you have a full head of hair, and a perfect body, we will never be able to lead a full and rich life. They convince us we will never find the woman or man of our dreams and we will never be loved and or respected. They convince us that happiness is only found by the "pretty" or "perfect" people.

The process of making us feel ugly isn't just limited to infomercials and commercials. The entire industry of movies and television pepetuates a myth that even the participants can't live up to. Have you ever actually seen one of those "pretty" movie stars in person? Have you ever seen what most of them actually look like without their make-up...without the special lighting? I have and so have many other people I personally know. They always tell the same story. They never rave about how handsome or beautiful they are. To their surprise they find them amazingly average looking and sometimes worse! I have a friend who once saw Tom Cruise on a ski slope in Colorado. She was stunned at how short he was and how emaciated he looked. Imagine that! Tom Cruise is basically just an average looking bloke!

Stop letting the media tell you what is attractive and what is not! No one is perfect!
