Scalp Med. Does Scalpmed Work? How To Make a Scalp Med Alternative For $15/month.

This review is designed to be concise. It can be read from start to finish in only a few minutes. I feel it will save you a great deal of time, money and increase the chances for successful hair regrowth. It is honest and direct but you do need to read the whole review. Some things just can't be explained in few sentences.

Scalp Med is a solid product for treating male and female pattern hair loss. It is still, in my opinion, not worth the money. Please be careful not to fall for their "introductory" price. The last time I checked you will have to spend $90 a month for the Scalp Med program. I have a cheaper and I feel better alternative to Scalpmed. The program I will outline for you will cost you around $15 a month. It uses most of the very same ingredients found in Scalp Med.

Hair loss is a subject I have experience with. I've owned and operated a site devoted to the condition for 10 years. I've invented formulas that have helped thousands of people. If you can spare 10 minutes, I will explain how you can get better results than the Scalpmed routine and save money as well. Let's get started.

Despite what you see on the Scalp Med infomercial, it is difficult to regrow a great deal of our lost hair no matter what treatment we use. It is far easier to keep the hair we have left. That's not what any of us want to hear, but that doesn't mean we don't need to hear it. Fortunately the treatment to keep what hair we have left is the same treatment to regrow the hair we've lost. The before and after pictures you're seeing on the Scalp Med infomercial represent the absolute best examples. 98% of people will never see results like those portrayed on the infomercial no matter what treatment is being used! If you're hoping for results that dramatic, you'll probably be disappointed. A more realistic goal is to keep the hair you have left and hope regrow some of it back. This is a goal we can often meet. Also, the longer you wait before starting an effective treatment the less hair you can generally regrow. Time is of the essence! Don't waste time! Get started as soon as possible!

How to make your own Scalp Med equivalent for $15/month..

To start we must first examine exactly what's in the Scalp Med routine. Scalp Med contains minoxidil (a.k.a.Rogaine) combined with additional ingredients. Minoxidil is one of only two medications actually proven to regrow hair according to the FDA. The other is known as Propecia. Propecia is a prescription medication (pill). I don't recommend you get on this prescription medication. There are some serious potential side effects and also it is not approved for women......but back to Scalpmed. You can save yourself a significant amount of money by purchasing 5% Rogaine at almost any drug store or supermarket. Even Walmart sells it. You can also save even more money by purchasing the equally effective generic versions. At Walmart you can purchase a 3 month supply of 5% Minoxidil for $18. But many testimonials I've found regarding Scalpmed came from people that already tried minoxidil. So clearly the added ingredients make Scalpmed more effective than just using minoxidil alone. Let's start by taking a look it what is actually in the Scalp Med routine. A cheaper alternative starts by first understanding just what you're buying when you order Scalp Med.

The "expeditor/nutrisol" is added directly into the bottle of minoxidil and then applied to your scalp twice per day. The "Expeditor/nutrisol" contains Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto), Beta-sitosterol, Panthenol, Cystine, Biotin, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparaben. The first two ingredients I believe are helpful for hair loss. The others will do essentially nothing or they are put in the product to help make the hair feel and look a bit thicker when you apply them. Then there are other ingredients in the "Cleanser Kit" that will make your hair feel and look a bit thicker but again this is just a cosmetic effect and they will do nothing to regrow lost hair or to help you keep the hair you still have. Keep in mind these ingredients can be found in other less expensive shampoos that you can buy in almost any pharmacy or super market. These extra ingredients will not help you regrow hair and certainly are worth the $99 a month price tag for the scalp med routine.

Again, the first two ingredients in the "expeditor/nutrisol" I believe to be effective for hair loss. No company has yet to spend millions to go through Phase I, II, III testing to prove these substances are helpful, but I highly suspect they are. All the other stuff is simply "fluff". By fluff I mean the ingredients either do nothing to regrow hair or they simply make the hair look or feel a bit thicker temporarily. A far cheaper alternative would be to simply purchase some hair mousse. But the other two ingredients, Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto) and Beta Sitosterol, in my opinion, make Scalpmed much better than plain minoxidil. Studies have shown a benefit to hair loss sufferers when topical saw palmetto was applied regularly to their scalps. It is believed the active ingredient in saw palmetto is beta sitosterol. That's why this ingredient is in the Scalpmed formula as well.

I did a search across the internet to find comments from people that have tried Scalpmed. I found more than enough to conclude it was a decent product. Interestingly, some of the comments were from people that already had tried minoxidil prior to trying Scalp Med. Most concluded it worked better than minoxidil alone. This is further evidence that the additional ingredients do make for a better product. Below is a smattering of the comments I found.

" Hi all. i have been on Scalpmed for 6 months now and it's working very well. i have tried rogain and others with little result and didn't like the feel of them. Scalpmed is the real deal and yes it has minoxidil however, there is more to it than that. i have about 35% more hair all over my head now and am thrilled. i use it once a day at night before bed and wash it out in the morning. "

"Since I have been using Scalpmed, I've noticed improvement in my hair loss and slight regrowth. Nonetheless, I cannot definitively tell if the result is better than what I would be getting if I could tolerate using generic Minoxidil/Rogaine. However, I do believe that I am noticing better and faster results than when I used Rogaine. I am not sure if the results are worth the significantly higher price for Scalpmed, though."

"Things have been going really well. I like this stuff alot. I am in my third month and it has really helped to thicken my hair. Much better than regular minoxidil and a hell of alot easier to apply."

"I'm 23 starting receeding on my temporals since 19 , got worse around 21-22, tried everything , dutasteride, nizorals it just thickeneed my hair, but than i said FK IT 100$ for every 2months whatever i can afford that let me try it, SCALPMED at first my hair fell out than after that it grew and thicker, but im definately seening noticeable difference in my temporal area, hair is starting to fill in at once it was peach fuzz now getting darker, i would say im a norwood 2.5 but with scalpmed should probably get me to a 2.0 or lower."

"I've been using scalpmed for 6 months with great results. Its not just minoxidil or rogaine. I have no itch and only been using it at night. Looks like I have about 40% more hair on the top and along the front too. Most of the comments I have read are from people who have not tried the product so beware of that too."

"I use ScalpMed on the top of my head, crown included. I have been using Scalp Med for about a year, a though it has taken time, it’s been in these past 5 months or so that I have really seen a difference. I think that it is three fold:

1. Strengthening the hair through nutrition and chemicals will take time and patience… and money.

2. ALL of the hair on your head begins to thicken, so, at times it’ll making your “spot” seem larger or more pronounced because the thick healthy hairs around it are ALSO getting larger… a visual trick, in a way.

3. For me, I think that I needed to slow the process of hair loss before I could start the process of hair re-growth. This took a lot of hard time. Yet, I am happy with the results so far and I continue to use the products with hope.

As far as the Vegas, Dr. Garcia comments are concerned. I am a personal friend and patient of Dr. Garcia’s. He is a great Doctor and a cool guy. I now live in NYC but, since I was born in Vegas and my family is still there, I go back to LV consistently… and when I’m there I go to see him. Every time.

I have, through my year working with the Dr., taken pictures of my hair growth through the process and I’m impressed… and I’m a cynical pessimist.

So, in the end, Many things work for many different people, ScalpMed has worked for me.

I’ve had results with Scalp Med, on my entire scalp. It Worked for me, Now I’ve been using it for 1 year, it wasn’t perfect two weeks in, nothing is, but it worked. And I don’t need numbers on a longitudinal study to show me because I see the proof in the mirror."

Keep in mind just because you read something on a blog or a message board does not mean it is unbiased. Unfortunately it is the best we have to work with.

The problem with Scalpmed is that it is overpriced and sold, in my opinion, in an unscrupulous way. Like I said before I've run a web site that deals with hair loss for more than 9 years. I've talked to literally thousands of people via e-mail and rarely will you ever see before and after pictures like the ones you see on the infomercial. It is highly unlikely your results from using Scalpmed will ever be that dramatic. I believe I have a cheaper routine that will work better than the Scalpmed program. But nothing...I repeat nothing.... will work as dramatically as portrayed on the Scalpmed infomercial.

Below you will find the program I recommend. It will cost you a grand total of about $15 a month. This sure beats the $90 a month the Scalp Med routine will cost you. It is probably more effective as well.

1.) Start using a shampoo called Nizoral. You can find it in the medicated shampoo section of any pharmacy. Walmart sells it as well. Use Nizoral twice per week. The other 5 days out of a week you can use any kind of shampoo you like except anything that contains any form of zinc. For example Head And Shoulders contains zinc. You do not want to use this. I will explain a bit further down the page.

DHT is the hormone responsible for causing your hair to gradually fall out. This is true for both male pattern baldness and female pattern hair loss. DHT shortens the growth cycle of hair and miniaturizes the follicle which results in a thinnner and shorter hair over time. Eventually the follicle will miniaturize to the point where it will produce no hair at all. Then the follicle will become encapsulated in fibrotic tissue. Once this occurs there is nothing more that can be done to reverse the process. You need to intervene to prevent this before it occurs. The active ingredient in Nizoral shampoo is ketoconazole at a 1% concentration. Several studies have shown that ketoconazole will reduce DHT levels in the scalp. It is pretty much a done deal that ketoconazole is an effective hair regrowth substance. A large bottle will cost you about $14. If you don't waste it you can make it stretch for 3 months. By itself Nizorall probably won't be enough to regrow the maximum amount of hair. Therefore we need to add a couple of other things to the routine to make it more effective. But in my opinion anyone serious about fighting the balding condition should be using Nizoral shampoo. Buy it and start using it!

2. Buy the generic version of Rogaine (minoxidil) at Walmart or your favorite pharmacy. The brand sold at Walmart is called "Equate". There are two different concentrations of minoxidil. A 2% version and a 5% version. If you're a man, purchase the 5% version. If you're a woman purchase the 2% version. (Remember minoxidil is a substance proven to regrow some hair according to the FDA). The reason we don't want to use any shampoos containing zinc is because we have studies showing zinc actually ruins the effectiveness of the minoxidil. Zinc by itself has been shown to be helpful for the balding person however not when you are using minoxidil. Using the two together is a no no!

The generic form of Rogaine will cost you $18 for a 3 month supply of the 5% stuff (the stuff for men) at Walmart. It is a bit cheaper for the 2% version (the stuff for women). If you're a woman don't bother using the men's version because it has a higher concentration of minoxidil. It has been proven that women do not benefit from the increased concentration therefore using the 5% men's version will only be a waste of your money. I repeat the men's version, although more powerful, will not help women any more than the 2% stuff!

3.) Purchase a product I manufacture myself called "Hair Muck". Hair Muck contains the other two compounds that probably are responsible for making Scalp Med better than just using minoxidil alone. Hair Muck will set you back around $40 for a 1 year supply. This price includes shipping. All you need to do is pour out 10 mls of hair muck and add it to a fresh bottle of minoxidil. A small measuring cup is supplied with the Hair Muck to accomplish this task. Then simply follow the application instructions that come with your bottle of minoxidil. Basically you get an eyedropper and you apply this to your scalp and rub it in a bit. You apply it to all areas that you want to treat twice per day. Do not over use the stuff! It will not work any better if you do.

Before you purchase Hair Muck I want you to understand that I do make a profit off the sale of this product. When you click on the link below you will arrive at my other site which is devoted to the subject of hair loss. Once you are there, click on "Purchase Ingredients" to locate Hair Muck. You'll be able to immediately tell that the same guy that built this site built the hair loss site. It has the same crummy style, poor grammar, spelling etc! Click here to purchase "Hair Muck".

Male and female pattern hair loss is a chronic, life long, condition. Therefore it can never be cured. You must be willing to stick with the above routine indefinitely. If you are unwilling to make the long term commitment, I recommend you bookmark this page. You'll probably change your mind a year from now because your condition will probably get worse. In reality the whole routine takes less than a few minutes a day. As with anything related to hair loss, there can never be any guarantee that this routine will work for you. Some people have too severe a case. The product I sell comes with a money back guarantee but that doesn't guarantee that it will work. I believe however it is a better treatment than Scalpmed. It will also cost you a great deal less.

Try to keep in mind it's only hair! There's nothing in this world you can't do! You can be loved and respected. You can build a good career and make lots of money if that's your goal. You can climb Mt. Everest. You can drive a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. You can even fly on the space shuttle! Bald people have even walked on the moon! The only limits placed upon you are the ones you place upon yourself! Maybe you need to hear something you've probably heard before.....losing your hair is not the end of the world! Count your blessings! There are worse things that could be happening to you. Best of luck to you!
