Scalpmed. Does it work?
Does Scalpmed work? Yes. Is it really worth the money? Yes.....but I'll show you a cheaper and more effective treatment. (Scalpmed currently costs almost $90 a month!) Hair loss is a subject that I know something about. I've written, owned, and operated a web site devoted to the subject for more than 9 years. If you can spare 10 minutes to read what I have to say, you will greatly increase your chances of regrowing some of your hair at far less cost than if you purchase Scalpmed.
Directions for making your own Scalpmed equivalent.
In my opinion Scalpmed is a legitimate treatment for hair loss. My search across the internet yielded many postive testimonials for the product. After examining the actual ingredients in the product I can understand why.
Scalp Med contains minoxidil (a.k.a.Rogaine) combined with some additional ingredients. Minoxidil is one of only two medications actually proven to regrow hair according to the FDA. The other is known as Propecia. I do not recomend you get on this prescription medication due to the potential side effects. But back to Scalpmed. You can save yourself a great deal of money by purchasing 5% Rogaine at almost any drug store or supermarket. Even Walmart sells it. You can also save even more money by purchasing the equally effective generic versions. At Walmart you can purchase a 3 month supply of 5% Minoxidil for $18. But many testimonials I've found regarding Scalpmed came from people that already tried minoxidil. So clearly the added ingredients make Scalpmed more effective than just using minoxidil alone.

The "expeditor/nutrisol" is added directly into the bottle of minoxidil and then applied to your scalp twice per day. The "Expeditor/nutrisol" contains Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto), Beta-sitosterol, Panthenol, Cystine, Biotin, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparaben. The first two ingredients I believe are very effective for hair loss. The others will do essentially nothing or they are put in the product to help make the hair feel and look a bit thicker when you apply them. Then there are other ingredients in the "Cleanser Kit" that will make your hair feel and look a bit thicker but again this is just a cosmetic effect and they will do nothing to regrow lost hair or to help you keep the hair you still have. Keep in mind these ingredients can be found in other less expensive shampoos that you can buy in almost any pharmacy or super market.
As I stated before, the first two ingredients in the "expeditor/nutrisol" I believe to be effective for hair loss. Although no company has yet to go through Phase I, II, III testing to prove these substances are helpful, I highly suspect they are. All the other stuff is simply "fluff". By Fluff I mean the ingredients either do nothing to help regrow hair or they simply make the hair look or feel a bit thicker temporarily. A far cheaper alternative would be to simply purchase some hair mousse. But the other two ingredients, Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto) and Beta Sitosterol I believe do help with regrowing hair. These are the two ingredients, in my opinion, that make Scalpmed so much better than plain minoxidil.
I did so web surfing on the net and was able to find many postive testimonials on blkogs and message boards related to hair loss. Here is a sampling of some of the positive comments I've read about scalpmed.
" Hi all. i have been using Scalpmed for 6 months now and it's working very well. i have tried rogain and others with little result and didn't like the feel of them. Scalpmed is the real deal and yes it has minoxidil however, there is more to it than that. i have about 35% more hair all over my head now and am thrilled. i use it once a day at night before bed and wash it out in the morn. "
"Since I have been using Scalpmed, I've noticed improvement in my hair loss and slight regrowth. Nonetheless, I cannot definitively tell if the result is better than what I would be getting if I could tolerate using generic Minoxidil/Rogaine. However, I do believe that I am noticing better and faster results than when I used Rogaine. I am not sure if the results are worth the significantly higher price for Scalpmed, though."
"Things have been going really well. I like this stuff alot. I am in my third month and it has really helped to thicken my hair. Much better than regular minoxidil and a hell of alot easier to apply."
"I'm 23 starting receeding on my temporals since 19 , got worse around 21-22, tried everything , dutasteride, nizorals it just thickeneed my hair, but than i said FK IT 100$ for every 2months whatever i can afford that let me try it, SCALPMED at first my hair fell out than after that it grew and thicker, but im definately seening noticeable difference in my temporal area, hair is starting to fill in at once it was peach fuzz now getting darker, i would say im a norwood 2.5 but with scalpmed should probably get me to a 2.0 or lower."
"I've been using scalpmed for around 6 months with terrific results. Its not just minoxidil or rogaine. I have no itch and only been using it at night. Looks like I have about 40% more hair on the top and along the front too. Most of the comments I have read are from people who have not tried the product so beware of that too."
"I use ScalpMed on the top of my head, crown included. I have been using ScalpMed for about a year, a though it has taken time, it’s been in these past 5 months or so that I have really seen a difference. I think that it is three fold:
1. Strengthening the hair through nutrition and chemicals will take time and patience… and money.
2. ALL of the hair on your head begins to thicken, so, at times it’ll making your “spot” seem larger or more pronounced because the thick healthy hairs around it are ALSO getting larger… a visual trick, in a way.
3. For me, I think that I needed to slow the process of hair loss before I could start the process of hair re-growth. This took a lot of hard time. Yet, I am happy with the results so far and I continue to use the products with hope.
As far as the Vegas, Dr. Garcia comments are concerned. I am a personal friend and patient of Dr. Garcia’s. He is a great Doctor and a cool guy. I now live in NYC but, since I was born in Vegas and my family is still there, I go back to LV consistently… and when I’m there I go to see him. Every time.
I have, through my year working with the Dr., taken pictures of my hair growth through the process and I’m impressed… and I’m a cynical pessimist.
So, in the end, Many things work for many different people, ScalpMed has worked for me.
I’ve had results with Scalp Med, on my entire scalp. It Worked for me, Now I’ve been using it for 1 year, it wasn’t perfect two weeks in, nothing is, but it worked. And I don’t need numbers on a longitudinal study to show me because I see the proof in the mirror."
Keep in mind just because you read something on a blog or a message board does not mean it is unbiased. Unfortunately it is the best we have to work with.
The problem with Scalpmed is that it is ridiculously overpriced and is sold (in my humble opinion) in an unscrupulous way. Like I said before I've run a web site that deals with hair loss for more than 8 years. I've talked to literally thousands of people via e-mail and rarely will you ever see before and after pictures like the ones you see on the infomercial. It is highly unlikely your results from using Scalpmed will ever be that dramatic. But I believe I have a cheaper routine that will work better than the Scalpmed program. But nothing...I repeat nothing.... will work as dramatically as portrayed on the Scalpmed infomercial.
Below you will find the program I recommend. The total cost will average out to be about $18 a month. This is far less than using the Scalpmed program and is probably more effective.
1.) Purchase a shampoo by the name of Nizoral. You can find it in the medicated shampoo section of any pharmacy. Walmart sells it as well. Nizoral is a shampoo that you use twice per week. The other 5 days out of a week you can use any kind of shampoo you like except anything that contains any form of zinc. For example Head And Shoulders contains zinc. You do not want to use this. I will explain a bit further down the page.
DHT is the hormone responsible for causing your hair to gradually fall out. This hold true with both male pattern baldness and female pattern hair loss. DHT shortens the growth cycle of hair and miniaturizes the follicle which results in a thinnner and shorter hair over time. The active ingredient in Nizoral shampoo is ketoconazole at a 1% concentration. Several studies have shown that ketoconazole will reduce DHT levels in the scalp. It is pretty much a done deal that ketoconazole is an effective hair regrowth substance. A large bottle will cost you about $14. If you don't waste it you can make it stretch for 3 months. By itself Nizorall probably won't be enough to regrow the maximum amount of hair. Therefore we need to add a couple of other things to the routine to make it more effective. But in my opinion anyone serious about fighting the balding condition should be using Nizoral shampoo.
2. Purchase the generic version of Rogaine (minoxidil) at Walmart or your favorite pharmacy. The brand sold at Walmart is called "Equate". There are two different concentrations of minoxidil. A 2% version and a 5% version. If you're a man, purchase the 5% version. If you're a woman purchase the 2% version. (Remember minoxidil is a substance proven to regrow some hair according to the FDA). The reason we don't want to use any shampoos containing zinc is because we have studies showing zinc actually ruins the effectiveness of the minoxidil. Zinc by itself has been shown to be helpful for the balding person however not when you are using minoxidil. Using the two together is a no no!
Generic minoxidil will cost you $18 for a 3 month supply of the 5% stuff (the stuff for men) at Walmart. It is a bit cheaper for the 2% version (the stuff for women). If you're a woman don't bother using the men's version because it has a higher concentration of minoxidil. It has been proven that women do not benefit from the increased concentration therefore using the 5% men's version will only be a waste of your money.
3.) Purchase a product I manufacture myself called "Hair Muck". It contains the other two compounds that probably are responsible for making Scalpmed better than just using minoxidil alone. Hair Muck will set you back around $40 for a 1 year supply. This price includes shipping. All you need to do is pour out 10 mls of hair muck and add it to a fresh bottle of minoxidil. A small measuring cup is supplied with the Hair Muck to accomplish this task. Then simply follow the application instructions that come with your bottle of minoxidl. Basically you get an eyedropper and you apply this to your scalp and rub it in a bit. You apply it to all areas that you want to treat twice per day. Do not over use the stuff! It will not work any better if you do.
Before you purchase Hair Muck I want you to understand that I do make a profit off the sale of this product. When you click on the link below you will arrive at my other site which is devoted to the subject of hair loss. When you arrive at the site click on "Purchase Ingredients" to locate Hair Muck. You'll be able to immediately tell that the same guy that built this site built the hair loss site. It has the same crummy style, poor grammar, spelling etc!

There is no cure for male or female pattern baldness. You must be willing to stick with the above routine indefinitely. If you are unwilling to make the long term commitment, I recommend you bookmark this page. You'll probably change your mind a year from now because your condition will probably get worse. In reality the whole routine takes less than a few minutes a day. As with anything related to hair loss, there can never be any guarantee that this routine will work for you. Some people have too severe a case. The product I sell comes with a money back guarantee but that doesn't guarantee that it will work. I believe however it is a better treatment than Scalpmed. It will also cost you a great deal less. In the end I think it is helpful to remember it's only hair! You don't really have a problem. There is nothing in this world you can do with a full head of hair that you can't do bald! The only limits placed upon you are the ones you place upon yourself!
