Don't Buy Supple Beverages, Juice Or Drink Until You Read This 4 Minute Review.
The Supple Beverage or Supple Juice or drink infomercial features the CEO of the company (Peter Apatow) being interviewed by Dr. Moniya Poudyal M.D. The product is touted as a treatment for arthritis or joint pain. The set seems designed to conjure up images that the interview is being conducted on a "Larry King" type show. In reality the entire program is a paid advertisement.
The Supple Beverage infomercial makes some claims that I feel a bit uncomfortable about. They also make some less extraordinary claims I feel are legitimate and deserve to be made. I will go through some of these claims one by one and give you my opinion on each of them. But right from the start you should be aware that cheaper and probably more effective products are already on the market. When I called the 1-800 number to inquire about the price I was astonished to learn the Supple drink will cost you about $65 a month on an ongoing basis! Furthermore you don't need to drink a beverage to gain the same benefits. Beverages are heavier and more expensive to ship to your house. Below is a source for 1/3 the price of Supple and all you need do is swallow a few capsules each day. To be fair and honest you should be aware I do make some money when you order this product through my site.
Supple Beverages Cheaper Alternative Product
The infomercial claims that extensive research confirms arthritis can be healed. I do not believe this is true. To me a cure means you take something for awhile, it cures the condition and you never need to take something ever again. This would not be the case with Supple Beverages. If you stopped the Supple drink, eventually your joint pain would return. Therefore you must continue to take the product on an ongoing basis.Of course this is another reason to find a less expensive source for the compounds in Supple Beverages.
The active ingredients in Supple Beverages or juice are glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin. The infomercial makes it seem like Supple is the only product on the market that offers this. Of course this is untrue. There are many products on the market that contain the very same two ingredients. It is true that these two substances, taken at the right doses, have been shown to rebuild bone and joints and ease pain. The rest of the ingredients in Supple, in my opinion, will do nothing for the condition. Where are the scientific studies to justify these other ingredients? Furthermore why did they not add a substance known as MSM which is commonly found in many arthritic and joint pain formulas? Studies show MSM to have a natural anti-inflammatory effect and is believed to slow down osteoarthritis (in animal studies). It also contains sulfur, a very important mineral for the formation of the cartilage. In my opinion any joint pain formula should contain this vital substance.
The infomercial also makes a claim that their product can be taken even by people allergic to shellfish. Although this statement is true it is usually irrelevant. There just aren't many people allergic to shellfish to begin with. So why would these people pay 3 times the price for a product that won't work any better than the stuff made from shellfish? Would you pay 3 times as much for peanut butter for people allergic to it when you yourself are not?
There's one legitimate claim the infomercial makes. People who take glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin do not take a high enough dose to see benefit or are taking an inferior quality of these compounds. This is very true. A quick search on the net confirms that most of the products out there do not contain enough of the two substances to be of benefit. Most data indicates you need a dose of 1500mgs per day of glucosamine sulfate and 1200mgs of chondroitin. As far as the quality of these two substances all you need do is make sure you are purchasing it from an FDA approved and inspected laboratory. The alternative source I am recommending is FDA approved and inspected.
Another claim made by the infomercial is that drinking Supple Beverages will help you to lose weight. This in my opinion is ridiculous. You don't lose weight by taking in more calories. You lose weight by reducing your caloric intake. Taking a formula contained in capsules would help you to do this simply because there are less calories in a capsule than a drink. Afterall Supple Beverages or Supple juice does contain some sugar. However there are some reasons why you may lose weight with a good supplement for your joint pain. Once pain is relieved, you tend to become more active and less sedentary. This of course is conducive to losing weight. Taking some weight off can also have a compounding beneficial effect on joint pain. The less you weigh the less stress on the joints and generally the less pain you will experience.

Like I stated earlier, besides the Glucosamine sulfate and the chondroitin, there is nothing else in Supple Beverage that will help with joint pain. If you know anything about vitamin supplements, you will quickly see that tiny quantities of these unproven substances are too low to be of benefit even if there was evidence for taking them! Furthermore I think it would be prudent to try a product which also contains MSM. Below is a much cheaper source of a product that will work just as good if not better.
